COACH COYNE Receives 'A' License
February 23, 2010- Penn Fusion Soccer Academy would like to congratulate Coach Shane Coyne on receiving his USSF ’A’ License. Coach Coyne passed the challenging written, oral, and practical exams necessary to fulfill the US Soccer Federation’s licensing requirements. In addition to holding a USSF ’A’ License, Coach Coyne also holds a UEFA ‘B’ Coaching License and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Coach Coyne is currently coaching the Penn Fusion ’94 Girls Team and the WCUSC’s ’00 and ’96 Girls Teams. Congratulations Coach Coyne!
PENN FUSION U17 BOYS IN 2nd PLACE
(2-16-10, Florida) Penn Fusion Soccer Academy’s Coppa U17 Boys went 2-1 this past weekend in US Youth National League play. They currently sit in second place with 15 points and are in a strong position to make the trip to the 2010 Youth Soccer Nationals.

Feb. 3, 2010 - Penn Fusion Soccer Academy congratulates Sarah Cardamone on signing with the College of Charleston! Sarah, a member of the Penn Fusion ’92 Gaels (formally Spirit United Gaels) is excited to be heading to the College of Charleston, "I always wanted to go to school in the South and that led me to Charleston. When I visited the campus I immediately fell in love with it. The combination of College of Charleston’s location, academics and soccer program made this an easy decision for me. SUSC/WCUSC Alumni Drafted
(January 19, 2010) Penn Fusion congratulates three SUSC/WCUSC alumni on being drafted by Women’s Professional Soccer. Former SUSC/WCUSC player Becky Edwards was drafted 12th in the 2010 Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) draft by FC Gold Pride (CA). Joining Edwards in the WPS draft were her WCUSC Predators ’87 teammates Jill Hutchinson and Mallori Lofton-Malachi. Hutchinson (30th overall) and Lofton-Malachi (39th overall) were both drafted by the Atlanta Beat. Lofton-Malachi was then traded to the Philadelphia Independence. Penn Fusion wishes them the best of luck as they start their professional soccer careers!
PENN FUSION 93 BOYS CROWNED DISNEY CHAMPIONS
(December 31, 2009) LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA - Penn Fusion Soccer Academy’s U16 Boys traveled to Florida to participate in the 2009 Disney Soccer Showcase. Penn Fusion opened tournament play with a 2-1 win over RSL Florida and then continued their winning ways through to the Championship!

PENN FUSION 93 GIRLS SHUTOUT COMPETITION AT ORANGE CLASSIC
(December 31, 2009) Broward County, Florida - Penn Fusion’s U16 ’93 girls were semi-finalists in the Orange Classic College Showcase. They had a record of 3-0-1 with goalkeepers Lisa Semetti and Anna Walker posting shutouts in all 4 games! Penn Fusion finished first in their bracket and 4th place overall (out of 24 teams) in the no play-off format. Congratulations!

PENN FUSION 92 BOYS TAKE CHARGE
Friskey Sits on Top of the Leader Board for Top Scorers...
(Dec. 14, 2009) – Penn Fusion Soccer Academy’s Coppa U17 Boys and Celtic U16 Boys returned home from the Wilson Gillete Soccer Complex, in Wilson, N.C. after a thrilling weekend of playing soccer against elite teams from across the country. Coppa U17 Boys sit in second place in the US Youth Soccer National League after one round of play. PFSA Coppa racked up ten goals over the four day soccer weekend and beat three of the four teams they played. Penn Fusion’s forward, Robert Friskey, sits atop the leader board for top scorers by netting four goals while teammate Owen Griffith notched two goals. Benjamin Maurey, Brandon Stevis, Korbin Keene, and Matthew Sabin also contributed goals during this first round of play.

PENN FUSION'93 BOYS - BETHESDA CHAMPIONS
Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament U-16 Boys Potomac (Top) Div.
(November 23, 2009) Penn Fusion’93 Boys traveled to Maryland to participate in the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament. They were dominant in bracket play and went on to win the championship in the Potomac (top flight) division over Philadelphia SC Coppa by a score of 3-0.
Penn Fusion Soccer Academy sent all four boys teams to the Bethesda Tournament. The teams achieved a collective record of six wins, three losses, and four ties against some of the best competition in the region.

Congratulations to Downingtown West Girls and Octorara Boys - 2009 PIAA High School Champions
(November 23, 2009) Penn Fusion Soccer Academy congratulates the Downingtown West Girls and Octorara Boys high school teams on winning the PIAA high school state championships this past weekend. For the Downingtown West Girls program, this marks their second AAA girls championship in the past three years. For the Octorara Boys program, this is the school’s second AA boys championship (1999 & 2009).
WAGS TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS
In their first tournament of the 2009/2010 campaign, the Penn Fusion 94 Girls team captured the WAGS U-15 Flight A Championship. The team started out with a 3-3 tie with Albertson 94 Fury Premier (NY), then went on to defeat Jersey United Charge (NJ) 4-0 and Windy City Pride (IL) 3-0. In the semifinal, the girls defeated FC Revolution (PA) 2-0. The tournament was capped with a 3-0 win in the championship game over Highland YSC Wildcats (NJ).
In other Columbus weekend tournament action, the Penn Fusion 95 Boys finished in 2nd place in the YMS Columbus Cup U-14 Champion Bracket, while the Penn Fusion 95 Girls were semifinalist of the Discovery Cup U-14 Silver Division.
