Jan 2011 - Four Penn Fusion girls’ teams competed at the nationally-ranked Disney Showcase with a collective record of 8 wins, 6 ties, and 1 loss, with that loss coming in a championship match.

The Penn Fusion 92 Gaels captured the championship of the U18 Showcase Flight with a strong offensive effort and remarkable defensive performance, scoring 9 goals but allowing only 2 goals over 4 tightly-contested games.   The accomplishment reflects an impressive overall team effort.  Christa Neary posted 4 goals for the Gaels while Casey Morrison and Sydney Cetrullo solidly anchored the defense in front of keeper Lauren Minkoff.  ESPN caught up with Head Coach Shawn Ferris following the final match.  Click here for the video of that interview and game highlight. The Penn Fusion 95 Girls advanced to the championship game of the U15 Copa Flight.  During qualification play, their strong defensive performance helped record two shutouts and they finished with 2 wins and a tie.   They entered the championship game and quickly went up 1-0 against South Carolina FC.  The 95 Girls continued to play strong but fell 2-1 in the very competitive and well played final.

With solid play throughout the tournament, the Penn Fusion 94 Girls captured third place in the U16 Predator Flight.  They netted 7 goals and allowed only 3 goals over their 4 matches.

Penn Fusion 93 Girls went undefeated at Disney posting a 1-0 win over Solar White of Texas and tying their remaining games in bracket play.

Congratulations, girls, on a great showing at Disney!
